Participant Requirements

Teacher Qualifications

• Middle school math teacher (grades 5-9)
• Have a single subject or multiple subject credential
• Employed in a Title 1 school
• 0-5 years experience preferred
• Have access to the following technology:
• Mac or PC
• Email (Outlook, Express, other)
• Microsoft Office (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Adobe Acrobat Reader (or Professional)
• Macromedia Flash Player 7
• Web browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape or Safari)
• High Speed network access (DSL, Cable modem, or T-1)

Teacher Requirements

• Participate in 5 modules for a total of 80 hours of instruction from October, 2004 - November 2006
• Complete all activities associated with each module
• Complete pre-and post-assessments and project evaluations
• Design, implement, and evaluate classroom lessons

PD-ROM Project will provide:

• the structure, coursework, online learning, fieldwork coordination,
• training for course facilitators and instructors
• technical and mathematics content support and resources as needed
• videoconferencing facilities and other materials as needed

Participating districts will:

• help identify candidates and support their participation in the online modules,
• identify potential course facilitators
